Irvington Library
Indianapolis/Marion County
Public Library
Project Information
Harmonizing with the character of the historic Irvington neighborhood, the library makes use of identifiable residential forms: pitched roofs, a chimney, and porches. A garden arch leads visitors in from the street. The play of scale continues on the interior, with choices of active and quiet seating areas. There are a number of large scale children's play/reading structures developed specially for the 17,000 s.f. building. 2003
